About Me
My name is Janean Ranis.

I received my college education from UW-LaCrosse. I double majored in History and Broadfield Social Studies with a degree in Education. I obtained my Masters in Administration in May of 2017 with concentrations in Principal-ship and Curriculum Instruction as well as as an Alternative Education certification. I have lived and visited many places outside of the United States.
I’ve been a teacher since 1994 in the La Crosse area either full time or part-time. I have many WI Social Studies 6-12 certifications: History (US and World), Economics, Psychology, Sociology, Government, Political Science, and a few others. I also have a Technical College Instructors License.
I’ve been married for over 20 years and have 5 children. My husband, Tim, is a teacher at Holmen High School and an active member of the National Guard. We have 5 kids . At one time, four of the children were enrolled in CAVE. Previous to our enrollment in CAVE, I home schooled the children for many years. We are very active in 4-H (sewing, canning, cooking, drama, archery, pellet gun) and all the kids are also active in the YMCA swim team and now two of them will be representing their High School on the swim team.
I currently teach the on-line social studies WEN, Odysseyware and Project Based Social Studies classes grades 6-12. I also teach for Western Technical College one or two nights depending on their need. I enjoy reading, sewing, scrap-booking and watching campfires and attending swim meets.
The best way to get a hold of me is via email. I work very late into the night and also on weekends. So you might get a fast response, regardless of what time you email me.
